MUSIGA Presents Cash To Five Music Industry Heroes Honoured At MUSIGA Presidential Grand Ball

The Chairman of the AMWeF Endowment Fund, Percy Ayamba says the Endowment Fund is expected to enable the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) to better provide for its ageing or incapacitated members.

The former C.E.O of Donewell said the decision to establish the Endowment Fund is to ensure the sustainability of the support AMWeF provides for its members.

Mr Ayamba was speaking at the cash presentation ceremony to the five Music Industry Heroes honored at the recent MUSIGA Presidential Grand Ball. The five are C.K Mann, A.B Crentsil, Jewel Ackah, Obouba J.A Adofo and Nana Kwame Ampadu. The beneficiaries received GHC 5,000.00 each out of the GHC 10,000.00 they were promised with the balance being invested in their names with First Banc.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Nana Ampadu expressed their gratitude to the President of MUSIGA for his visionary leadership and efforts to support the ageing musicians. He commended the members of the Presidential Grand Ball for their efforts at ensuring the success of the Grand Ball.

Government Has Abandoned Creative Arts In Top Priorities – FOCAP

Federation Of Concerned Arts Professionals (FOCAP), an arts-based pressure group has accused government of turning a blind eye regarding concerns from the Creative Arts sector.

The group stated that Creative Industry has been rejected vis-à-vis the priorities of the ruling government for the past one year.

According to FOCAP, sometime in 2017, it released a press statement that the budget which was read by the finance minister was anti-Creative Art because the budget could not clearly define the art role, investment and programmes to be rolled out.

According to the group, the President’s speech at yesterday’s ‘Encounter with the Media’ held at the Flagstaff House has fueled their suspicions in that regard .

Keminni Amanor Explains Why She Stood TV3 Up

Senior news anchor and producer at GHONE TV, Keminni Amanor will be gracing the studios of the KSM show as his first guest for 2018, this Friday ( January 20th) .

The bubbly, intelligent and experienced anchor told the legendary KSM why a move to TV3 never materialised.

Media general had advertised on all of its platforms that ‘TV3 had snapped up Keminni’.

Keche Tells Their Story In Their New Music Video “Next Level”

Tema based music duo Keche, known in real life as Joshua Kojo Ampah (Keche Joshua) and Andrew Kofi Cudjoe (Keche Andrew).

The duo, signed under the management of George Britton (GB) Records released a smash hit titled Next level on Sunday 12th November 2017 titled “Next level”.

The smash hit has been crowned with an impeccable music video.

In the Yaw Skyface directed music video, Keche tells the story of a man who has been through the struggle to see the good life, during time which he had no support from the wife.

Marcia Griffiths Signs With Donsome Booking Agency

Veteran Jamaican reggae songstress Marcia Griffiths recently signed an exclusive booking deal with the New York based Donsome Booking Agency.

The company which has secured bookings for many local and international artistes, is well known throughout the music industry for its professionalism and commitment to its clients.

In a media release to Cypress Ghana, Marcia who was a part of Bob Marley's backing vocal trio The I-Threes and who recently celebrate 54 years in the music industry, explained why she chose to work with the agency.

'Donsome Booking Agency is well known in the music fraternity for their meticulous work and how they collaborate with their artistes and guide them in a professional manner to elevate their musical career.  So, because of their track record I decided to acquire their services to represent me', said Griffiths.

The booking agency is headed by Adrian 'Donsome' Hanson.  Griffiths is confident that her association with the company will elevate and enhance her career.


The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has said that government has pledged support to the development in the country by supporting all boxers equally.

Naa Darkua Dodoo, Communications Director and PRO of the GBA said The Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Frema Osei-Opare made this known to GBA during a curtsey call at the Flagstaff House.

According to Naa Darkua Dodoo, ‘‘one thing she (Osei-Opare) assured us it that, since we don’t have the Black Stars going to The 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2018 African Nations Championship, they will do all they can to support boxing in Ghana’’.

Boxing: Baby Jet Promotions Confirms Undercard Fights For January 27

Baby Jet Promotions have confirmed undecard fights for January 27th clash at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

The upcoming clash will be headlined by IBO lightweight championship between Ghana’s Emmanuel Tagoe and Argentina’s Fernando David Saucedo. Tagoe will be making his first defense of his IBO belt.

CEO of Baby Jet Promotions samuel Anim-Addo in a news conference on Tuesday at the Multichoice head office announced the undercard fights for the upcoming show.

“For the undercard bouts, Dodzi Kemeh will face Tanzania’s Mwinyi Mzengera for the vacant WBO Africa welterweight belt, there will be a National super lightweight championship between Daniel Lartey and Daniel Aduku,” he announced.

Kumasi Mall Gets Four Premium 3D Cinemas

Four premium 3D cinemas will soon be opened at the Kumasi City Mall in the Ashanti region.

The cinemas are among a few in the world like AMC Dine-In (USA), Odeon Lounge (UK) and Nu Metro (SA).

Called ‘Watch & Dine Cinema’, it is the first of its kind in West Africa and 13th on the list of highly rated cinemas around the world.

The cinemas, which had been under construction for a while, will up the movie-going experience for residents by bringing the best of two worlds - a movie theatre and a restaurant - to patrons.

Housing four different movie halls, the halls are fitted with well-furnished seats and convertible wood dine cartridges that make the watching and dining experience worthwhile.

The Watch & Dine Cinema, according to owners, will bring superior acoustics, richer imagery and a RealD 3D in all four halls.

The young talent started his musical career from Great Lamptey Mills Senior High School, and took lesson from the 5th project studio at circles were he worked with the likes of Gasmilla KK Fosu, Edem Cedi n Nyra among others.

He has also been on several musical competitions and won several street battles.
