Registrations For Africa’s Travel Indaba 2018, Rebranded To Focus On Continent’s World-class Tourism Businesses

Registration has opened for Africa’s Travel Indaba, which will transform Durban’s Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre into a lively hub of activity from 8 to 10 May 2018 under the banner Africa’s Stories, Your Success.

Owned and managed by South African Tourism, Africa’s Travel Indaba has over the past 37 years established itself as the continent’s premier tourism trade show.

“We are excited to be moving into 2018 with renewed energy and focus following the rebranding of the show as Africa’s Travel Indaba. This new positioning affirms that the show belongs to the entire African travel industry, and that at its heart is stimulating tourism and inclusive economic development on our continent,” said South African Tourism’s Chief Executive Officer, Sisa Ntshona. According to Ntshona, participants have many enhancements to look forward to at Africa’s Travel Indaba 2018.

Africa’s Travel Indaba attracts about 7 000 delegates from all over the world, and last year the trade show bustled with more than 1 000 exhibiting businesses from 18 African countries, showcasing an array of travel and tourism offerings to almost 1 500 local and international buyers.

Evelyn Mahlaba, General Regional Manager looking after the Africa region at South African Tourism, added that Africa’s Travel Indaba is an important business to business marketing platform that facilitates business growth for travel trade partners across the continent. Last year’s group of buyers achieved admirable business successes that we hope to build on in 2018 for the benefit of not only South Africa’s tourism industry but also for the continent as a whole.

Nigerian Musician, Kiss Daniel Changes Stage Name

Nigerian musician, Daniel Anidugbe, popularly known as Kiss Daniel, has changed his stage name.

The artiste on Tuesday afternoon changed his stage name to Kizz Daniel from Kiss Daniel.

This was as he reflected the change in his social media accounts.

The singer recently left his former label, G-Worldwide, due to uncertain legal circumstances that have seen some of his recent songs removed from music stores.

Jhene Aiko & Big Sean Finally Reunite For Award Ceremony Picture

Beautiful singer Jhene Aiko and rapper Sean Michael Leonard Anderson, known professionally as Big Sean were together yesterday at an event and they looked to still be in love in spite of the breakup rumors.

Jhene Aiko was awarded the "leadership in media award" yesterday by the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) West Los Angeles. 

Big Sean, who she calls Rabbit, was with her at the event and they took photos together which she shared on her Instagram page.

She captioned it: "it was an honor to receive the “leadership in media award” from@nami_west_los_angeles yesterday ?? means so much to me !! and i appreciate you for being there, Rabbit ? #StigmaFree #MentalHealthMonth"

The photos are being perceived as her way of shutting down rumors that she and the rapper have gone their separate ways.

President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo wants the police to arrest of the president of the Ghana Football Association, (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi for allegedly using his name to defraud others.

Kwesi Nyantakyi’s name allegedly popped up in a yet-to-be premiered investigative video under the auspices of Tiger Eye PI being managed by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The explosive investigative piece, according to the award-winning journalist, will cause a stir in the football fraternity and can cost several appointtees their jobs.

I Will Join Zylofon Media If Deal Is Right- Akwaboah Jnr

Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr., popularly known as Akwaboah Jnr., has disclosed that he is open to joining music label Zylofon Media if the deal is right.

Akwaboah Jnr, who is currently signed to Sarkcess Music made this disclosure on the ‘After Hours’ show last Friday on TV3.

Asked by host Mikki Osei Berko, if he would ever consider joining Zylophon Music, Akwaboah responded, “I will think about it first.”

“Why, because if the direction I want to go they cannot take me there, then I won’t be on. You read contracts and tell them what you want to do. You dictate what you want first,” he added.

Samini To Headline First International African Stage At Upstream Music Festival In USA

Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall recording artiste, Emmanuel Andrews Samini, known by his stage name Samini is set to make history again and put Ghana on the World Music Map on 2nd of June 2018 as he gears up to headline the first African Stage at the annual “UPSTREAM MUSIC FESTIVAL” at the Pioneer Square in Seattle, Washington, USA.

Asked why she likes tattoos considering the pain that is often associated with getting it, she responded: “The pain yeah, people ask me Jasmine, ‘you have so many tattoos are they not painful?’”

“They are extremely painful depending on where you get it. Some are painful some are not. I don’t know if I should say this on TV, but whenever I am having a tattoo, I get orgasms. I was worried; this is out of this world. I read about it and apparently it is natural,” the beautiful actress revealed.

We Are Law-Abiding – CEO Of Menzgold Responds To Bank of Ghana

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has indicated that it would soon take action against gold-buying firm Menzgold after preliminary investigations found it was taking deposits without approval.

In a rebuttal, the Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, has rubbished the statement, calling it needless.

In a social media post, Nana Appiah, for the umpteenth time, responded to BOG's incessant claim, that Menzgold takes deposit.

He wrote; “So what happened to the presumption of innocence under article 19(1)c? MENZGOLD DOES NOT TAKE DEPOSITS. WE ARE LAW ABIDING. Respectfully, he who alleges must immediately discharge the burden of proof. Unsubstantiated utterances are needless. The law is what the judge says it is."

Heritage Bank Limited Set To Meet The Minimum

Heritage Bank Limited, Ghana has disclosed that it is firmly on track to meet the new minimum capital requirement set by the Bank of Ghana, well ahead of the stipulated December 2018 deadline.

Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. Patrick Fiscian made this revelation to some members of the media during an interaction on the sidelines of the SMEGA (SME Ghana) 5th anniversary breakfast meeting.  He stated that management of the bank had already initiated plans to meet the revamped minimum capital requirement even before the bank commenced operations in 2017. 

“Prior to the official opening of the bank, we were well aware of the proposal by the Bank of Ghana to inject fresh capital, this has therefore been at the fore of our strategy even before we opened our doors to the public” he added. He also predicted that Heritage Bank would emerge as one of the stronger local banks after the Bank of Ghana’s recapitalization deadline elapses.
