Nigerian Comedians Are Not Our Enemies, We Are Good Friends - DKB

“Nigerian comedians are not our enemies, we are very good friends” says DKB. The King of comedy said this because he doesn’t understand why people are pushing the agenda that Nigerian comedians are enemies to Ghanaian comics.

According to the comedian, Nigerian comedians cannot be left out in the conversation about the Ghanaian Comedy industry, they are a huge power house when it comes to comedy in Africa and are also very influential, so it is very understandable if their name is mentioned whenever comedy is being discussed, but it doesn’t make them enemies of Ghana.

“It is amazing that from nowhere people are pushing an agenda that we are enemies with Nigerian comedians because every time they come up in the conversation of comedy. Of course, they are a comedy power house and have been very influential so anytime comedy is being discussed they will surely come up. This doesn’t mean a side is being chosen or they must be our enemies before we succeed” he said.

God father of comedy in Ghana, K.S.M passed a comment saying DKB makes him laugh harder than the Nigerian comedians. People picked the statement made by K.S.M as one that is making enemies between DKB and Nigerian comics.

Reaching out to the comedian for comments about KSM statement, He said “It is his [KSM} opinion and people have to respect that. Everyone has a choice and if he prefers me to Nigerian comedians it doesn’t warrant people claiming he is trying to make enemies between me and Nigerians.

Now those talking smack, don’t some of them also prefer Nigerian comedians over Ghanaian comics? Does that mean they hate Ghana comics? Some utterances are reckless and must be disregarded.”

“Also those who are saying I hate Nigerians because I pick on them in my jokes should note carefully, I don’t hate them but admire them. You can’t pick on people or anything if they aren’t unique. I pick on so many people; Shatta wale, Sarkodie, Edem, EL, Pres. Mahama, NDC, NPP et al does that mean I hate all of them” he added.
